My Story
Hi, I'm Julia. My journey to shaking up workplace meetings was rather unexpected.
For over two decades, I navigated the corporate world as a change professional, often finding myself sketching doodles in meetings and wondering if we could do better.
Then came two game-changers.
Firstly, the need to quickly adapt my facilitation style during the pandemic from in-person workshops to online meetings. Initially there was a struggle, until I discovered digital collaboration tools like Mural. Phew.
And then (more recently) I realised I’m a high masking autistic, with a dose of ADHD in the mix. Suddenly, my struggles with corporate burnout, traditional meetings and the open plan office made sense.
I noticed that many organisations I work with are struggling with the logistics of hybrid working and meeting gridlock. The way we are working isn’t working, and as a result many leaders are starting to call their people back into the office. But there is another way.
That's how Mindful Meetings came to life.
I believe that how we meet matters – it's the beating heart of our work culture. Yet, most of us never learn the art of facilitation, let alone how to navigate the quirks of hybrid working.
I'm fascinated by how we can leverage technology to enhance collaboration at work. However, I've learnt that while tech can be a powerful enabler, it's not a silver bullet. The key to truly effective meetings lies in the human element – our ability to connect, communicate, and create together.
Now, I partner with leaders and professionals who are ready to breathe new life into their meeting culture.
My approach blends:
Hard-earned corporate wisdom
Change management expertise
Neurodivergent insights
Practical facilitation skills
Deep thinking on meetings, collaboration and how we can design ways of working to be inclusive by default.
A sprinkle of mindfulness (thanks to my love of yoga)
Whether you're grappling with hybrid challenges, seeking to boost engagement, or simply tired of meetings that feel like a waste of time, I'm here to help.
